PB&J 52 week experiment at an end.

Here is the last ever photo for the, 2 year long, 52 week photo experiment:

“Finales” Photo By: Mike

As I sit back and reminisce the last 2 years of photos I am thinking of somewhere over the rainbow. 144 photos in 2010 and 154 photos in 2011. The random theme machine has been disabled and soon to be released for download to the world.

2010 – 52 Week Gallery and 2011 – 52 Week Gallery

C’est la Vie

PB&J the last hope

Last week was all about hope and while she didn’t make any appearances hope was photographed. Here are those hope filled photos:

I have taken this photo many times before. The lights on the tree give me hope. They remind me that I should give not of gift but of the heart.

“Hope Lighted" Photo By: Mike

I really don’t need to press the red button. There is only one theme left, but I pressed the button anyway. The F.R.Id.Ge ”(F)ully (R)andom (I)ndependent (G)enerator” or theme generator for short has served us well. Once the machine has spun it’s last cycle it will be powered off. The last theme and last hope of ever getting an entry in the 52 week experiment is:

“Self Portrait”

A self portrait is self explanatory. Take a portrait shot of yourself.  Anybody with a camera device should be able take a photo of themselves. Courage maybe needed to take a self portrait. The best ones are somewhat revealing. 2010 – Self Portrait and an Image Search

As always, and your last chance, it’s up to your interpretation, take and submit the photo in a week and If you submit it, I’ll post it. Submit at 52week@waxenmedia.com. FAQS

PB&J From a differnt Viewpoint

Last week was another quiet week for photos. Here is the one viewpoint.

“My Viewpoint” Photo By: Mike

Photo By: Christopher D. Bennett. www.photography139.com

The random theme machine is running slow but soon it will cease to run at all. Only three more presses of the red button and one of them is now.

“Wet”

It has indeed been a tearful week. Last week one had to get dirty by getting down on their knees to get a photo from a different viewpoint. This week I suspect more than one person will get wet. 2010 – Wet and an Image Search.

As always it’s up to your interpretation, take and submit the photo in a week and If you submit it, I’ll post it. Submit at 52week@waxenmedia.com. FAQS

PB&J ruled in thirds.

Here are last weeks Rule of Thirds photos, at the moment anyway.

I’m not sure this use of the Rule of Thirds enhanced this photo any.

“Technical Rule of Thirds” Photo By: Mike

I ran the random theme machine solo today. It gave me a different viewpoint. Which is what the theme ended up being.

“Viewpoint”

Viewpoint as a photography theme means, other than the normal human height forward facing viewpoint. Remember, it’s OK to get dirty for photography. So get down on your knees or even lay on the ground for this one.  Blues Inspiration, 2010 – Viewpoint and an Image Search.

As always it’s up to your interpretation, take and submit the photo in a week and If you submit it, I’ll post it. Submit at 52week@waxenmedia.com. FAQS

Diagnonal Rule PB&J

Black Friday to Cyber Monday brings out the worst in people. Lets just say I should have carried a boomstick. At least the photos for last weeks Diagonal Rule have arrived:

The random theme machine must be bogged down from Cyber Monday requests. It keeps repeating the same thing # # #, I think it means:

“Rule of Thirds”

A compositional standard for all arts. “Rule of Thirds: The rule states that an image should be imagined as divided into nine equal parts by two equally-spaced horizontal lines and two equally-spaced vertical lines, and that important compositional elements should be placed along these lines or their intersections.” Think tic-tac-toe # and put your subject on those lines, it tends to just look better. Remember when it comes to art sometimes breaking the rules sets the standard. 2010 – Rule of Thirds and an Image Search.

As always it’s up to your interpretation, take and submit the photo in a week and If you submit it, I’ll post it. Submit at 52week@waxenmedia.com. FAQS

“The Sign” Photo By: Mike

I’m waiting at the random theme machine anticipating pressing the red button, if only I hadn’t locked my keys inside the room. A crowbar and some duct tape later i’m in. Button pressed, oops lost a wheel, turning head sideways to read…

“Diagonal Rule”

Keep your head sideways and picture a landscape [ \ ] Take the photo how you saw it.  Very diagonal isn’t it?  OK the idea is to have a diagonal line of something through an otherwise horizontal photo. 2010 – Diagnoal Rule and an Image Search.

As always it’s up to your interpretation, take and submit the photo in a week and If you submit it, I’ll post it. Submit at 52week@waxenmedia.com. FAQS

“What I’m Driving, through Connecticut” Photo By: Mike

The remotely controlled red button produced a randomly chosen received theme:

“Signs”

Signs of what is the real question.  This could be signs or signs of something. Randomly picking some signs is boring. Spice it up and find alternative signs to photograph. 2010 – Signs and Image Search.

As always it’s up to your interpretation, take and submit the photo in a week and If you submit it, I’ll post it. Submit at 52week@waxenmedia.com. FAQS

“Hungry, Hungry Bunny” Photo By: Mike

The random theme machine put an ad in the personals, it reads: “Single machine, clean parts, large cpu. seeking adventure and excitement. Someone to explore my ram. Plugs must fit.” Humm I think the machine needs to get out more. I pressed the button anyway. Round and round it goes.

“Explore”

is where it wants to go.  Lets explore this as a theme. Maybe I’ll explore an opportunity or maybe I’ll just explore with my hands? Either way one should explore photos. This theme is very open to interpretation. Explore – 2010 with an Image Search.

As always it’s up to your interpretation, take and submit the photo in a week and If you submit it, I’ll post it. Submit at 52week@waxenmedia.com. FAQS.

“Tree Love” Photo By: Mike

Another fun walk to the random theme machine. Being Halloween and in 3″ heels, it was more of hop, ouch, skip, ouch and a jump, OUCH!. Wild pink and black pig tails and a plaid skirt… just for the visuals.  Ok, the machine pressed it’s own red button. You Spin me Round…. and round it goes.

“Animals”

Animals it seems to be. I like to think of animals as a theme rather than literal. Maybe animalistic would be a better description. Image Search.

As always it’s up to your interpretation, take and submit the photo in a week and If you submit it, I’ll post it. Submit at 52week@waxenmedia.com. FAQS

“Poly Eyes” Photo By: Mike.

11 weeks to go. I followed my normal path down to the random theme machine. I pressed the button and as I waited I thought of an old saying: “No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.” Buddha. It is fitting the random theme stopped on this:

“Paths”

We will make the path that guides us to the path that we will photograph for our paths photo. Straightforward on this one, find a path and take a photo. 2010 – Paths and an Image Search.

As always it’s up to your interpretation, take and submit the photo in a week and If you submit it, I’ll post it. Submit at 52week@waxenmedia.com. FAQS

“Tired Spencer” Photo By: Mike

I’m till in a starring contest with the theme machine. I’ll let you know who wins. As my eye sees it or as I see it the mechanical wonder won. I’ll consed this one. I pressed the red button. I put a spell on you started playing and I knew the machine had an:

“Eye”

on me. Another body part to photograph. Whats could the next body part be? I’ll go out on a limb here and assume you can find an eye to photograph. 2010 – eye and Image Search.

As always it’s up to your interpretation, take and submit the photo in a week and If you submit it, I’ll post it. Submit at 52week@waxenmedia.com. FAQS

I have faced the machine once again. During this face off we starred at each other. It is time to face the facts the button needs pressed. After pressing that fine red shiny button. The theme machine spit out this weeks theme.

“Face”

Face the facts this is all about faces. Find a face or a face of something, face it and photograph it. 2010 – Face and an Image Search.

As always it’s up to your interpretation, take and submit the photo in a week and If you submit it, I’ll post it. Submit at 52week@waxenmedia.com. FAQS.

Smoke filled PB&J

Once the smoke cleared I found a couple submissions for smoke photography.

‘Twas a flimsy shift on a bunker cot
With a dirk slit sheer through the bosom spot
And the lace stiff dry in a purplish blot
Oh was she wench or some shudderin’ maid
That dared the knife and took the blade
By God! she had stuff for a plucky jade
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum.

With more than enough bosoms abound
Spin that machine around n around.
spinning ye goes yo ho around.
With a Yo-Heave-Ho! and a fare-you-well
And a sudden plunge in the sullen swell
Ten fathoms deep on the road to hell,
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

CALM DOWN. calm down. They random theme machine has gone off the deep end. I’ll pick the theme.

“Calm”

A fitting theme. CALM DOWN!!! Soothing thoughts of a calm photo. 2010 – Calm and Image Search.

As always it’s up to your interpretation, take and submit the photo in a week and If you submit it, I’ll post it. Submit at 52week@waxenmedia.com. FAQS.

Weeping Mother” Photo By: Mike

I powered on the random theme machine and have been chocking every since. Smoke filled the room. It took forever to even see the screen. Drum roll and harrumph. Go figure this weeks them is

“Smoke”

Another anything goes theme.  Smoke photography has been around since we could take photos. Go forth, use a respirator and take plenty of smoky photos. I look forward to a little smoke on the water.  1,2,3, 2010 – Smoke and Image Search.
