Follow the path to PB&J

Published by at 12:39 pm under 52 Week,Photography and Art

PB&J… what is it? A (P)eanut (B)utter & (J)elly? I asked several people this weekend to fill in the blank. I would say Peanut Butter and? All responses were Jelly! Why ask this? I had one person inform me that it is NOT Peanut Butter & Jelly. All those people have it wrong. A true one is a Peanut Butter & Jam. WHAT?!?! does this have to do with my blog? Nothing, except when I say PB&J It is a fancy acronym for (P)hoto (B)log & (J)ournal. Mixed with the occasional real PB&J with Jelly or Jam which seems to be on the same path. Like last weeks theme which had Chris and I following similar paths. The classic reflection photo was the path to take.

Photo By: Christopher D. Bennett. Go check out his website www.photography139.com for many other good photos.

My photo was a “one shot”, “last change” I had of Big Creek State Park. It has a reflection.

Speaking of paths, Chris stopped by and the machine was powered up. I started rocking the machine in a left and right motion and out came the theme:

“Paths”

Paths is arguably a loose technique that can encompasses many of the definable photographic guidelines of composition: rule of thirds, balancing elements, leading lines, symmetry and patterns, viewpoint, background, depth, framing and cropping. It is loose because it can contain or be all, part or any of those things. All of my leading lines gallery contain a path to something. This is another one that a Google image search is worth far more than a text description. Get out there and start taking photos. Submit them and I will post them.
