Changes

Published by under Blogging

The rapture is upon us! It is time for change: Colors will be altered, The front page will burn. New pages will rise from the ashes, whole galleries will disappear, new galleries will appear, software will be added to the software tab, brother and sister websites will be born and in the end a rebirth.

A PB&J playing with light.

Published by under 52 Week,Photography and Art

A week of grads must have slowed down the photos. Painting with light usually gets people to play. Here are those people that played:

As I casually walked down to the random theme machine I tripped and fell down the stairs… Somehow I managed to power on the machine. As I lay there looking up it spit out the following theme:

“Odd Camera Angle”

This fit perfectly with the angle I was looking at. Last years version of this theme was a bit squeaky and with a holiday weekend coming this might be the slimmest of this years themes for entries. Odd camera angles are really just other than what is considered a normal camera angle. Last year I mentioned an image search shows little in examples. This year it shows last years photos with even less examples.

UGH. Think up, down or cattycorner avoid high, low or straight.

I went down deep into the dudgeon. Unlocked the door and when I opened it I was Blinded by the Light.  The random theme machine had put a spell on me.  Let the mood music brighten this weeks theme:

“Painting with Light”

Painting with Light from last year really got the creativity flowing.  Painting with light is all about light rolling over the subject. This can be B&W or Color.  This can also be a stationary camera and moving light. Wikipedia has a great example of moving the camera which can be found here. The first known photographer to use this technique was Man Ray in his series “Space Writing”  There are many ways to interpret this. Some examples: Image search 1 and Image search 2. Enjoy and don’t let it overwhelm you, a flashlight and a subject would work. Just take your time you have a week.

PB&J, The golden standard.

Last week had some adventures. Here are last weeks adventurous photos:

I walked down to the random theme room where Chris was already waiting. After all the security clearance and authorizations were approved the keys were rotated and the dial started spinning. My mind really had slipped a notch because all I could see was techno color. When the machine completed its rotation it came to rest on:

“Colorful”

The theme this week to be is colorful.  Last years colorful had some colorful submissions.  I think people have hit the “Not quite summer yet funk”.  Lets hope colorful as a theme is inspirational enough to get people out and produce some colorful submissions.  Colorful photography has many meanings:  an emotion or feeling,  either subject or background, multiple tones of a single color in harmony or just full of color.  Your imagination sets the rules.  An Image Search for assistance.

Walking night photos

Here are some night photos of the bridge on the new bike/walking trail next to my house.

Enjoy the enhancing audio from the walk: frogs

The bridge has a rather pretty view. Well worth a trip. The frogs are loud and everywhere. Wear a coat and be prepared for a walk.

A Moving PB&J

Published by under 52 Week,Photography and Art

Fresh back from the SPAM capital I decided to get moving. The moving photos for last week were slow to arrive but here they are:

Fresh back from my SPAMVENTURE™ and eggs I’m hungry for some reason. Good oil and a frying pan tend to do that. I seem to have forgot my wallet, no car and the dogs ate my homework. I was at a lose what to do. I went down and asked the Great random theme generator for the answer to all answers. What photos shall we take this week?: something bold, something that will get people outside and motivated to take some photos. I’m talking real things.

I pressed the button and held my breath… Once I woke up I noticed the machine had stopped on:

“Adventure”

I thought having the ability to actually hold your breath long enough to pass out was pretty adventurous. I suspect this is to be something like last years adventure. Be bold and adventurous go forth and discover the grass that needs mowed, the neighbors cat or the lonely squirrel.  Somewhere adventure is waiting for the right photographer and that photographer is you!  I know you can do this and with only an image search  and an inspirational song to guide you.
