Photo Blog and Jabbering? ahhhhh ok. Sign Sign everywhere a sign, blocking out the scenery breaking my mind, do this, don’t do that, can’t you read the sign? Last week was Signs if you haven’t figured it out. Originally I had planned multiple signs photos, but I settled on signs of spring. I figured there would be plenty of submissions since “Signs” is easy… Could be signs of something or a picture of signs or somebody signs. But so far it is Chris and I. So without more jabbering gibberish the “Signs”:

Chris stopped by to witness the machine run and pick for next week. He noticed the complete lack of music during the running process. I’ll have to work on that. Lack of caffeine and desire to put the mornings destruction behind me, I just pushed the button and didn’t even turn on the ticker tape. I wrote it down and it is:
“Macro”
Macro photography is not difficult just more of a technique. It would be interesting to see what some other photographers can come up with…
hint hint
GOOGLED.

Overloaded photographer.
Lack of sleep.
Trip, quick save the falling caffeine.
Drop the camera worth 500 Starbucks Latte’s.
Miss the falling caffeine to catch camera and lose both.
Priceless?
Well I did create a photo.

Another week gone by and time for some motion photos:…
OK I’ll admit the photo you are about to see is NOT the photo I had planned to put up. It is however a picture of motion.
Here are the submitted photos:

Chris stopped by to operate the machine for next weeks photo as I was very tired and dragging my feet. One quick punch of the fancy red button and with the ticker tape finely working again out popped:
“Signs”
I see signs… they are everywhere, and this sign says: “SUBMIT PHOTOS” GOOGLED .
ON my website there has always been questions as to why it is named “Waxen Media” there are a few reasons why. Some are personal that I don’t really share. I like more than photography I enjoy all kinds of media; such as videos, sculpture, woodworking, drawing, digital arts, programming, etc… Waxen is a misspelling of waxing which is a moon phase. This was to show that no matter what I did I just keep getting fatter. One definition of Waxen is “easily molded”. I thought that sort of fit. A fat guy that just keeps getting fatter and has a site he can easily mold into anything he wants. Take it how ever you want I guess, it is what it is. I am not the first “company” to have a miss spelled company name. Kraft, Qwest, Krispy Kreme, Maid-Rite, Dunkin Donuts. There are many.

Chris showed up to run the machine this week. Just turn on the power and call out three warnings: WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! Then press the red button and the wheels begin spinning until gravity stops it and we are left with:
“Motion”
So next week will be motion photos. Power up a camera and move while clicking. You now have a motion photo. GOOGLED

Another week and some “WET” photos later… Come on people wake up, this week was “WET” . All you had to do was look outside and take a photo. Ice, Mud and Water everywhere you look. Next week, more people submitting would be nice, or I’m putting people on the naughty list. Ok OK, I know I’m over acting but it was Oscar weekend. Say hello to my little friend, SNAP-SNAP-SNAP!!!
Here is this weeks photos for “WET”

Chris stopped by and we powered up the machine. With everything still wet from last weeks photos I used rubber gloves to push the button… Squeaky noise and a shinny red button I just had to press, which I did… and this week is:
“Explore”
Explore. Interesting as Chris put it. I might have to think some on this. It could be an easy photo if people want to submit some. Digging through my junk drawer is more of an adventure but could be considered “Explore”

With Oscar weekend behind us we now know what movies we should have watched? I have not seen all the movies but I can give an opinion on what I think of the ones I saw.
“The Hurt Locker” was ok, but best picture ok? It seems if it has something to do with war we love it. Good movie, Best Picture I’ll leave that to the experts.
“Inglourious Bastards” is one of those, again, war movies you either love or hate. It is a hard movie to follow and full of over the top events that adrenalin filled action junkies will love. Only Quentin Tarantino can bring us this movie.
“Up” I like this movie. I think there are some underlying things that bother me that people miss out on. Charles Munts was ridiculed that what he believed in didn’t exist which drove him to spend his life trying to prove he was right. We should feel some compassion for him but the the movie makes him into a complete bad person when it could have ended in compassion. Russell is a tag along, 8 year old, that you can’t help but like. He is persistent. What I dislike is they never elaborate on the sad fact that his dad, who was such a part of his life and is gone, but suddenly seems to want nothing to do with him. This leads to an ending where Carl Fredrickson finds a place as a surrogate dad filling in to stand next to Russell. This can leave the impression that all dads want nothing to do with their kids? We do feel the pain when Carl Fredrickson loses Ellie and later discovers her photos of their life which was her great adventure.
“Avatar” This wasn’t a bad movie. It suffers from special effects overload. If you love special effects and science fiction, this is the movie for you. The effects are great. It is the movie to see in 3D. Plot kind of falls short. This movie is watchable in 2D unlike the last 3D movie I saw which was the 2008 “Journey to the Center of the Earth”. That movie in 2D doesn’t work at all, because it is filled with effects that were designed specifically to highlight 3D.
“Star Trek” It’s an amped up combo of Old Star Trek and Star Wars effects with Fire Fly Sci-Fi mixed in. One of the better Star Trek movies, even if the altered the original story line. It’s a movie people don’t get bent out of shape.

Week 9 already and March is upon us. Monday and nothing seemed to work. I couldn’t even get my card reader to work. Chris was busy but did stop by to run the machine for next weeks photo. No music and running on low power I just clicked the button and up popped.
“Wet”
Wet… Well, this opens the door for many opportunities for photos. My usual call for others to start submitting photos.

Late again but not because I didn’t have the photo done. While I was out of a town, in Nashville, I took my self portrait there. I brought the photo to work, with Chris as my witness, I couldn’t get any of the card readers to read my card. I had to wait until I arrived at home.
